Comparative density token library

This folder normalizes the public, density-relevant evidence collected for every researched system. It is an inspection library, not a PDS token proposal, production dependency, or third-party token bundle. No values in this folder have been merged into PDS_figma_tokens.json.

The authoritative file index is manifest.json. Each manifest entry links the token extract to its report and source record.

Design-system practitioners can use the generated Markdown token views. Each view translates the structured fields into readable tables and embeds the complete authoritative JSON in a collapsible section.

File contract

• tokens contains exact public names and values where available.
• componentMappings records how those values reach representative components.
• activation records the verified mode, attribute, class, theme, or prop API.
• unavailable identifies production data that is private or not published.
• source points to a pinned path under sources/, relative to the density-research/ root, or to the applicable public evidence record.
• derivedPx is used only for transparent unit conversion in the cited source context; it is not an invented token value.

The extracts are deliberately narrow. Audit repository-backed values against the preserved upstream files; audit documentation- or video-backed values against the corresponding source README.

Source and maintenance policy

The recorded commit is authoritative for repository-backed extracts. Documentation, package, case-study, and video evidence records its own version or retrieval metadata. Missing production values remain explicitly unavailable.

When a token extract changes, update its manifest entry, system report, and source README together. Naming must remain consistent across all three directories; see STRUCTURE.md.

Regenerate the Markdown views with:

Generated files under markdown/ should not be edited by hand.
